Systems Engineer
Responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:

Provide on site technical support services to Enterprise customers
Installing, configuring and testing one or more systems, providing user training, problem troubleshooting, system enhancement, performance tuning and etc
Conduct initial diagnosis of systems issues, documenting and communicating the problem priority to the necessary levels of support required (if cannot resolve)
Conduct preventive maintenance exercises on pre-scheduled basis for Enterprise customers
To stay abreast of new technologies - Microsoft-based or Open Source Systems (OSS)-based
Moderate-to-heavy traveling to customer's location

Qualifications required:

MUST HAVE 1+ years experience in supporting Enterprise customers related to server systems, hardware, anti virus, backup solutions, etc
MUST POSSESS a Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Higher Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering or any related fields

Skills required:
MUST HAVE experience in supporting either Windows 2000/2003 Server Active Directory, Exchange 2000/2003/2007, ISA Server 2000/2004/2006, Sharepoint Portal Server 2003/2007, SMS 2003, Systems Center, MOM 2005, Live Communications Server 2005, SQL 2000/2005, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc

MUST HAVE ability to work with customers on resolution of technical issues
MUST HAVE good analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  MUST HAVE the ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
MUST BE independent, can work without supervision and in a team as well as aggressive
MUST BE dynamic, motivated, result oriented and able to handle systems support and deployment challenges as well as work on tight schedule
MUST BE critical to details
MUST POSSESS strong oral / written communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills
MUST POSSESS excellent organizational skills - ability to prioritize and manage schedules as well as meet project deadlines
MUST HAVE the ability to execute policies and procedures that promote customer satisfaction

MUST HAVE understanding of common enterprise-level software technology terms and concepts as well as hands-on skills in as many areas listed below:

  • Operating Systems (ie; Windows Server 2000/2003/Xp Pro/Vista, Red Hat Linux, etc)
  • Directory Service (ie; Active Directory, Open LDAP, Netware NDS, etc)
  • Messaging System (ie; Exchange, Notes, Sendmail, etc)
  • Collaboration System (ie; LCS, OCS, SPS, etc)
  • Database system (ie; SQL Server, Oracle, MYSQL, etc)
  • Firewall/Proxy System (ie; ISA server, SQUID Proxy, Bluecoat, etc)
  • Anti Virus System (ie; Symantec, F-Secure, Kaspersky, etc)
  • Backup System (ie; Symantec BackupExec, etc)
  • Desktop Management System (ie; SMS 2003, Altiris, etc)
  • Networking (ie; LAN, WAN, WiFi, VSAT, Frame Relay, etc)
MUST POSSESS working knowledge of personal computing hardware and software technology
MUST BE able to work on tight schedules
MUST BE able to identify and resolve system performance issues and problems, including interfacing with any 3rd Party support

Added advantage:

Possess certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), A+, CCNA, etc
Possess experience in helpdesk related system such as Remedy, ServiceDesk, etc
Possess experience in supporting Open Source Systems (OSS) infrastructure-related technologies such as Open LDAP, Sendmail, Squid Proxy, etc
Possess experience with knowledge base creation and process efficiency
Possess knowledge in systems design and verification
Possess experience in fulfillment of services based on Service Level Agreement (SLA)
